It’s Wednesday. We’re having friends over on Friday night for supper. I’ve got a game plan outlined so that life doesn’t fall apart on Thursday night. It’ll be fun and if I did it on Saturday night I’d fuss all day Saturday and weekends are too precious to do that.

I’m ready to start next block on the Primitive Garden by Lisa Bonegean.
It’s crows on a barbwire fence. I think she must have known the placement “stress” I was having with the blocks. She place a hint section in this month’s block that suggested using a light box to outline the pattern on the background fabric to help with placement. It’s a great idea--- Why didn’t I think of that???? I don’t have a light box, but I did have a lamp and a glass French door. I just taped it up on the glass door and traced. I got the same end result.

Here is February’s block, a graniteware pot of geraniums. It wasn’t easy… lots of curves, but I smile every time I look at it.
Every summer I line the porch steps with geraniums. While the colors have changed—various shades of red, white, pink; the flower is always the same--- geraniums. The pot—my grandmother always cooked in either iron skillets or black graniteware. I like the way quilt blocks can make you hold onto memories….So many things I don’t want to forget….

Gratitudes:
Cheese Crackers
Pink sunrise this morning
Maple Syrup from friends

Yesterday I missed the chance to tell you how gorgeous your garden looks. What a beautiful deer fence. How big is the garden and what do you grow?

this looks like a fun quilt - glad you found a helpful hint on the placement - I struggle with that too - I love geraniums - my front porch needs a pick me up, this would be the perfect thing

The geraniums are so pretty!

Those geraniums are great! I never have much luck with geraniums, but I keep trying because they come in so many beautiful colors.

That little pot of geraniums is adorable. It would make a cute little quilt all by itself.

You have really got a winner on your hands - each block is cuter than the last.
I keep a geranium on my patio to remind me of my beloved Mrs. Neff, our neighbor when I was a girl.

What a wonderful block! The geraniums are so bright and happy looking! Like you I have so many wonderful memories of things like that - such very special memories. The crow block looks like so much fun!

The geranium block is very striking. I also have geraniums every summer on the steps going down to our back garden (well, to be absolutely truthful, my Dad plants them in pots for me every year - and in my front garden too).

Love it, you are making that for me, right?

I love your bunny! I made them for a couple of years and sold them at local craft shows when my son was small and I was at home! I think that is a Simplicity pattern. I have about 50 dresses for the bunnies still cut and ready to sew LOL. all in 80's small calicos. I must have made 300 of those wabbits. even had my DH in on the deal. He became an excellent stuffer!

I too love geraniums - we have a short "warm" season in Canada and geraniums are so hardy that they will last into fall! Your block is great - so detailed!

Cheers!

What a great memory about the geraniums. I use the lid from an underbed tote with a work light underneath it for my light table. The applique pattern looks wonderful...and intricate.
