Don’t dwell on this being an ‘ugly’ picture, because if you’re living in the U.P. of Michigan this photograph of the garden is as beautiful as if it held a bounty of vegetables. A picture that looks like this means the snow has almost all melted and we just about have another winter behind us. It was 72 degrees yesterday, and back down in the low 50’s today. But in March you take what you can get…. Last night we swung on the porch and had the Screen Doors pulled until sunset. It’s a pretty safe bet that the snow isn’t over, but one can hope….

I’m still plugging away on my Primitive garden block of the month and I’ve pulled fabrics to start a quilt this weekend. I’ll have to take some photos. I did want to share a piece that I made about 15 years ago. She’s a bunny I pull out at Easter time. I love her grey eyes. The dress has gathers that resemble smocking (something I plan on learning to do one of these years) and Clooney lace around the neck. She’s made of muslin that was tea dyed. I don’t remember the pattern name… but it’s definitely the eyes that make her a keeper. I’m off to take advantage of the sunshine…

Coke bottle money
The barking at the door

Coke bottle money . . . that makes me smile *s* When we were newlyweds and poorer than church mice, our biggest treat at each payday was a six pack of Coke with returnable bottles. The 60 cents deposit on those bottles was our savings account - honestly. The day before the next payday, we would cash in the bottles and put 60 cents worth of gas in the car. Just enough gas to get to work the next day to pick up the paycheck. Those were the days - we were too young and too deliriously happy to know we were living on the edge.

Your garden looks very inviting! And your weather is nicer than we are having. It is much too cold still and rain, rain, rain - ugh! I need to go sew.

Your bunny is beautiful and she looks gorgeous sitting in the basket with the eggs.

The thing I love about your bunnies is that they have such sweet faces. Here in the UK it's been really warm and sunny the past few days - makes such a difference to how you feel, though I'd prefer not to have to look at it through my office window.

What a great bunny! I just love the soft sculpture animals/dolls, but I have a hard time diverting my time from quilting. Of course, then every holiday I wish I had something I'd made. One of these days, I hope!
