Ok—You give a quilt, big or small away. What’s next??? Don’t you ever wonder what happens next? What did they do with it? How did it look in their home? I got these pictures emailed to me earlier this week. My Mother-in-law wanted to show me how her quilted table runners looked in her home.
Living 1200 miles from her we don’t get to visit in person very often. But you can tell from my daily entries we stay in touch real well.

The High today was 50 degrees, it’s just a front; I don’t think the warm weather is over yet. Ransom is sad, the weather is too rainy to go outside for running.

I’ve got to work a couple of hours tomorrow, but hopefully I can quilt some.

Pro-football season starts….confession…I’m an addict.

Go Pack—(Quit laughing, It could happen!!!!)

Have a great weekend…

Hi Mel, yup, autumn is in the air..and you seem to have it big time. Here in my part of western WI, the high for today was just past midnight, 70 deg. and it's been dropping ever since. Now in the 50's. Heard maybe frost tonight in northern MN and WI..probably you too?
Soup weather coming.

These front sure do change things in a hurry.
Love the fabrics in the post below..they look like your kind of colors.
Great to see the neat tablerunners again..IN USE!! And I'll help ya..."GO PACK"..they are bound to make one of these years! Hugs for a great weekend, Finn

what a thoguthful MIL to understand that you're attached to what you make, and might want to know how it looks in its new home...

Sounds like you have a better relationship with your MIL than some people do who live next door to them. How nice to know that she appreciates and uses the gifts that you took time to make.

It will happen before the Chargers make good.

It is really thoughtful of people to send photos of a gift in use! I need to remember to do that when I receive things, too!

What great pictures...what a great MIL to take pictures so you can share them with all of us. I'm a football fan also. Love college, I can watch any college team and the pro's I love the Steelers. Been a Steeler fan since I married Andy 32 years ago. Hopefully I'll get lots of hand work done in the next months. Send some of the cool weather down here please. Sounds wonderful

Your MIL is so lucky! Those runners look wonderful...I'm especially partial to the pumpkin runner. Do you mind sharing where we could get this pattern? Thanks.

Yes I have always wondered how my quilts fare in someone else's home. Are they taken care of? Loved? Stored away? It was sweet of your MIL to send your the pictures. They are both great.

I love your decorating (and your mil's! I put out a couple of apple fall quilts and another sunflower one for now -- I'm holding off as long as I can on the real fall ones!

Oh -- and Go Bears! I love pro football!

I'm sorry but I'm with Joann--go Bears. Oddly we get to see the Packers play an inordinate amount but hardly ever the Bears. I know we are out of market but the Packers are always on. I know Favre is from MS but come on! LOL

It's really nice of her to send you pics. I think it shows how much she appreciates it. I gave a friend from work a purple and yellow Jacobs Ladder wall hanging. The next day she brought in one of her plates to show me how well they matched. I could easily tell how much it was appreciated.

What a nice MIL to send pictures of your quilts IN USE! I love it when people love my quilts--makes ya want to do more for them. It's nice that she appreciates them. They sure are pretty.

Yes I sometimes wonder what becomes of the quilts I give away. But I don't worry about it. Because they were gifts and the recipients are welcome to do whatever they want with them. Including use them for dog bedding if they desire. Of course if I find out they end up as dog bedding I DON'T make them another. LOL!

Really I love nothing better than to find out a quilt I love has been used to death. I don't make heirlooms. I make quilts meant to be dragged around during playtime and snuggled under during naptime. If while visiting I see one that has been loved to death then that person gets another.

Have a nice day with your football. :-) I used to be a big Saints fan but since I moved to Tx and haven't been able to follow the games I've gotten out of the Sunday afternoon football habit. So I'll be spending my time tidying up the sewing room a bit so I can work in there again.
