I did pull the fabrics for my next project together. It’s not much, but at least it’s something. They are spring like colors, but I feel by the time I get it complete, I’ll be sick of the dark colors of winter. Our winters are pretty long. There’s a healthy price for a beautiful fall.

I worked late yesterday, but went home and got the chores done. I cooked spaghetti and sauce for supper. I realized that I need to adjust to cooking for just three people. I made enough pasta to feed a third world country—or a family with an 18 year-old boy…same thing. I guess about the time I get it figured out, he’ll be back home…

About the time we went to bed, Don got called back into work. I started to get up and do something, but realized in order for people to survive tomorrow, I had better get some rest.

I did, however, study the periodic table of elements for Chemistry with Chelsey and learned more than I wanted to about a Spanish 3 class novel the class is reading together. It was good spending time with Chelsey working on this… and I’ve got to say I was totally impressed when the phone rang and she said she couldn’t talk she was doing homework---No, the lightning didn’t flash, and there was no earthquake--- but maybe she’s getting the idea…too early to tell, but we’ll keep you posted.

I better get to work—

Gratitudes:
1. Coffee in the morning
2. Paper clips that are different colors – don’t you love school supplies!
3. Thread in all colors

Isn't it amazing how it all comes flooding back from those school days long ago - and worrying as to how much you actually can't remember :o(

If it's any consolation it took my mum years to get used to cooking for just the two of them instead of all five of us

Me gusto estudiar en espanol ... not so much enjoyment in the periodic table.

Your fabrics are just delish *s* Anxious to see your quilt coming together.

My son Josh has been married and gone for 5 years now and I still can't make pasta for just the 2 of us. I don't do badly with anything else, but pasta is a real challenge. Andy has threatened to call the homeless shelter and invite a few over :)not sure I'll ever figure it out. Your fabric looks great, can't wait to see what you have in mind for it. I love school supplies too. All those colored post it notes in different sizes...

love the fabrics--I got them too! :) What are you going to make? I haven't decided, mine are aging right now.
and I'm with ya on the pasta thing--we had spaghetti last night too. I do have a mentally handicapped daughter who loves leftovers for lunch though, so I keep her supplied. I figured, if I'm going to cook, why not cook a lot and get it over with all at once. One big marathon cooking session, then I can get back to what I really like to do--sew!

Lovely spring colours - just right to cheer up the dark Winter days.

Autumn has arrived in the Dordogne overnight - first fall of leaves last night!

I like the looks of these fabrics. They will go wonderfully in a quilt.

I really like that set of fabric. I think I have a similar collection like that somewhere.
It does take some adjusting to get used to adjusting recipe sizes. I think my mother still cooks for six even though she hasn't had six to cook for for over 20 years.
I like school supplies too. They had all these colored pencils and crayons really cheap for back to school, and my high schooler doesn't need those kinds of things, but I so wanted to get them anyway!
