I regrouped and made it through and drove down there. I sat through the meeting and Headed for another 3.5 hour drive to Madision. I arrived in Sun Prairie at 4:30 pm. I was not lost and I was alive-- Time to reward myself. I headed to JJ Stitches, a quilt shop that had been featured in the Quilt Sampler a few years ago.... I didn't had a camera--- But I will when I go back in 3 weeks--. The shop was wonderful with a small town look to it. Wooden floors and tall ceilings were lined with quilts. The only thing better was the lady that rang up my purchases.
The pocket book is made from a bendable ruler. I've studied the pattern. It doesn't look complicated. I'm hoping to find something easy to make as several Christmas gifts.
Needless to say the Quilt therapy helped me get it through the classes. I can't wait to go back....

Husband and I just spent 4 weeks in the beautiful Upper Peninsula and I got to visit The Portage Quilt Shop. I bought a kit and the pattern for an Amy Butler Frenchy Purse. I did the hand quilting while we were there and finished it on the sewing machine just today!
The UP is a fantastic place.

That shop is one of my favorites and I hope to visit it in October when I go to Madison to visit my brother. That pattern is a cute one - which I also have and your right it doesn't look to bad to put together. Sorry that your day started out rough - but it sure ended on a great note :).

I was to JJ last fall for the first time and can't wait to get back there. I love the old building and the way everything is displayed. Very nice shop! Good Luck with those classes. :)

Melanie, your fabric stack looks so rich and delicious! Yay for fabric therapy. Works every time. I've seen those snap top little purses made with the measuring tapes around blogland and they look like a lot of fun. Can't wait to see how you make yours.
