I had to work late Friday, so I went in late. This gave me a chance to knock out the weekly housework and give everyone free time over the weekend. Saturday, I picked out paint to do the living room. The room is now a fresh Gobi Desert color.

We’re enjoying having Eric home for spring break. Saturday night was family Chinese night. Everyone pitches in—including dates—and we made egg rolls, crab rangoons, and pork wontons. Tons of funs, between the food and the sass I really enjoyed my kids.

That left Sunday for quilting.
I completed my Saltbox block for this month along with two stars for next month.
I love the time change. Somehow, I always feel like I have more energy. I got my Through the Seasons blocks ready for stitching at night this week.

Tonight I plan on working on the star blocks for the Primitive Garden. But if I don’t, I’m hoping there’s a fun reason for me not to. I didn’t get as much quilting done this weekend as I had planned…then again, I never do.

I have to remember... it’s not a race…..and I just marvel as the pieces come together.

My Blessings:
My family
A new wicker basket to hold a quilt project
A warm cup of coffee

This is turning out great, Mel! Love it. Spring is just around the corner and the time change always makes me feel that way.

So many people complain about the Daylight Savings change - I don't understand why. They always get the missing hour back in the fall. Personally I love having all that daylight in the evening.

Love your Saltbox blocks Mel, and they look so fresh hanging out in the snow. Time change, I love that too, and this morning I got up to lovely bright sunshine and birds singing, couldn't ask for anything better than that. Enjoy your week.

I love your Saltbox. When you hang your things outside they look so great. I feel like I have more energy since the time change too. I know it is not a race, but I would love to start some sort of challenge, any good ideas?

Your new blocks are fantastic. Love the snow in the background.
I don't do well with the time change, I'm so tired for days after.

I love the whimsical look of the saltbox quilt. The height of the houses gives them humor!

Do you design your patterns, or are these patterns you found?

I'm with you on the longer days -- just seems like you have more time in the day after work and after dinner!

I love the quilt. I also appreciate the artistic way you have taken the pictures. Lovely snow. (From a distance--I live where it doesn't snow.)

Your Saltbox is grand. I STARTED that pattern, got two or three blocks done and now it has been on hold for a year. I hated the directions. I don't know why she doesn't have us cut everything at first. The directions made me cranky. But someday when I am mellow I would like to finish . . . .
