It’s Monday morning--- rolling out of bed is tough. Five days till the weekend. I had a great weekend; it shouldn’t be so rough getting going this morning. Not as much quilting as I had hoped, but then again there never is. At least this way I don’t get bored with it.

Don and I went to see “No Reservations”, a great show. I recommend it to everyone. We went biking riding with Eric and a date on Sunday afternoon and stopped for ice cream—Chocolate Almond fudge for me. We haven’t rode bicycles nearly enough this summer. Don finished the front steps, the major project of the summer. Maybe I’ll get pictures this we to share. I transplanted the Hostas. I hope they have time to take root before winter.

On the sewing front, Eric’s boss and wife had their baby, so I need to get this quilt complete. I’ve got the fabrics pull from my stash. I think all but one are Thimbleberries pieces. I really like the combination. I started the block strips. This is about all I completed. But I have hopes of working on it tonight.

Gratitudes:
1. Buying Groceries Sunday and never having to stress where the money is coming from. I never want to take that for Granted.

2. Kind of had the blues all weekend, and usually “tough” family took it easy on Mom.

3. Ransom always being eager to head to the garden.

Hi there Mel, I'm glad you had a wonderful weekend. They're never long enough are they? I'm loving the quilt top you're working on, you and I definitely share the same taste in fabrics!
*hugs*

Hmm bike riding, I don't think I'd want to try that in public, haven't been on a bike for years. Sorry you had the blues, you can start watching your mailbox now (s).

I like your fabric combination too, but then I'm partial to red, white, and blue! Enjoy the week, and the weekend will be here again before we know it!

Seems like a lot of the blahs going on lately. Must be end of summer syndrome. Have a great week.

Great fabric choices and I always think red, white and blue is one of the best colour combinations.

Love your fabrics. At one time those colors were all I would use and I still love them. Wishing I could join you on a ride with my new bike. I'm still waiting for some slightly cooler weather...looks like the weekend at the earliest. We have 99 forecast for tomorrow.

Hey there Melanie - I've been away way too long from blog reading. I'm so eager to see what you've been up to this last month or too. I'm sure with you when it comes to Mondays!

Bike riding sounds marvelous. What a great way to get some exercise, fresh air and see the sights. I'm sure the exercise did a little to help your blues - at least that's what I've always heard it should do.

OK - I'll keep reading so I can catch up with you!

What fabulous reds! I'm with Freddie Moran - red is always good.
Understand the Monday thing...but then weekends wouldn't be so special without Monday through Friday.
Hope your week is a good one.

Transplanting some plants is on my list this week too! I usually find that a bit of exercise and time outside is good for the blues - time does seem to race by doesn't it? And it always seems like never enough time for me to get what I want to get done, what I need to get done AND some time for myself. Hopefully your work week will race by and you can get to some "me" time.

Cheers!

Evelyn
