Cottage Garden.....

Keeping true to fashion...and staying just about a season behind,
I saw this book clearance on Connecting Threads and treated myself along with batting for Harvest Home. Last week they had it $14.00. I'll probably have it worn out before ever quilting a stitch. Gorgeous photographs capture the quilts perfectly. And some quilts just aren't seasonal, they're beauties year-round. Order it while they still have some.

I had a friend over for soup and salad Tuesday night. It is all part of that thing that people say I need to be more social. Being social is exhausting after working all day. I've decided not to be pressured with that anymore... if it happens it happens. I'm pretty content with work, sewing, and my sunday school class right now.

A rainy weekend is forecasted, so I just might get Harvest Home stretched on the quilting frame. I'm planning on tearing down my garden some this evening---a couple of rows a day. It's a lot more fun to put up than tear down.

Kind of missing my kids today -- I'd just like them home for supper. I'd send them back to their busy lives...but supper would be nice. Went to church last night. Completely fun....It's never something I look back on and say--"man, wish I hadn't done that..." Sleepy today, but it was worth it.

Gratitudes:
That riding lawn mower
My new tires for my jeep
Hebrews 11, 1 John 1: 6-8

I see one of your gratitudes is the riding lawn mower. One of mine would be the man who mows our lawn so we don't have to!

That looks like a lovely book :o) I am the same way... I am content with hubby and family and love my alone time to quilt and garden... I have a few friends, but prefer to just be on my own for the most part.

I check in on your blog every once in a while. I used to spend my summers in the UP at my grandparents. Paulding. Right over there by Bruce's Crossing. You remind me of myself AND that I just might not be as crazy as I think I am. Keep on keeping on!

just found your blog, and hey my grandmother came from the MI, in the Richmondville/Deckerville area.

I'm alot like you, involved in DH and kids (1 at college, 1 newly married), work, I like my friends, but enjoy my hobbies in alone time.
LOL.

come visit me.

I'm with Sue; it's hard to entertain when you've been away from home all day, but I hope it was a nice evening with a friend.

You pick out such great fabrics and now this book! Good thing you don't live closer; I'd be over all the time :D

Have a nice weekend; it sounds nice and peaceful, friend.

Being social is really hard for me, too. Oh, I get lonely - for sure, but I find it so difficult to 'get out there' and meet people.

Yeah for the riding mower *s*

Love the book, I read one or another quilting book each night before sleep, and I too wear them out. Yes! A wonderful thing...a riding lawnmower! It must be exhausting for you to try and entertain after a full day of work.

There's nothing wrong with time on your own. I think we require a certain amount of solitude - not exclusively, but a certain amount! :)

And yes, church feeds the soul.

You're right- Scripture is always a great place to be feeding!

I feel the same way. Sometimes I worry that I am not social enough, but I am happy, so I figure why change it? LOL.
The book looks great and I love your attitude about going to the Lord's house! I feel the same way!
