Eric surprised us and came home for a couple of days--- Just what the family needed. Everyone was “jockey-ing” for time with him. If that kid doesn’t feel loved--- he won’t ever…. Even Ransom was in on the act.

So I just got a couple of stitches in last night.
The Ladybug Postcard will be for Don’s cousin that just recently had a baby. I was hoping for a baby quilt to be made for her, but it’s just not happening right now. But she will get a postcard welcoming her into the world. Amanda did the baby’s room in Ladybugs. The other postcard will be for a couple of friends that recently lost their husbands. I made two just a like of that one.
Never easy.

We have Chelsey’s softball game tonight, so it’s pretty safe to say that I won’t have much time for sewing. But It’ll be there when I do get the chance.

Gratitudes:
Scholarship Money for Chelsey—easing burdens ahead.
Safe travel for Eric coming home
Pretzels
First Cherry tomatoes of the season

Some of our leaves are turning already. That usually doesn't happen until August. Winter will soon be here and you'll be quilting again! Love the ladybug!

I had my first cherry tomatoes of the season last night also...they were delicious. Congrats on the scholarship money...I'm so grateful that our kids have gotten some, although it doesn't nearly cover what they need. Every little bit helps!

These cards look great. And it sounds like your summer is a very good one - even if it is too short. It's neat that Eric slipped home unexpectedly and great that Chelsey got a scholarship (I imagine she'll get several before it's all over with), and your garden looks great. Marigolds are some of my favorites, especially the ones with the darker red in them.
As for running out of thread in the middle of something . . . AARRGGHHHHH!!!!!!

I know just what you mean about everyone wanting time with Eric - happens here too when our girls come home. Isn't it great that you all love each other so much?
That is a real blessing.

Hello from the Thumb of Michigan; just found your blog in my wanderings; I like to quilt and craft; love your red bike; I have a bike that is red too but it is a motorized one! LOL; well, Im just lazy. I have never been to your area; it sounds very pretty; if you ever need more thread give me a holler; our Walmart has discontinued fabric but I get around and would be more than willing to help a fellow quilter! I hope you will come visit my blog sometime; Im adding you to my favorites; Merrie @ wheretheblackbirdssing.blogspot.com

Hi there, I found my way here via another quilters blog. I love the cute cards you just showed! I love lurking in quilters blogs and seeing the wonderful projects.

In the fall of 05 my DH and I spent a week in the UP and we loved it. What a beautiful place to call home.

Loved the cards, especially the ladybug. You do such beautiful work. Aren't scholarships great! My daughter couldn't go to college without them. We appreciate all of them, no matter how small.
