My attitude wasn’t real great this morning---but I got a real attitude adjustment at about ten after six….I hit a deer in my jeep. I pulled over and after I recovered from the coffee bath that I had all over my clothes I Called Don and checked out the jeep. It was still too dark to tell much but the jeep seemed ok aside from the fur that stuck here and there on the bumper. I had the guys at work check it out and I have a cracked bumper, but it could have been so much worse. The deer just came out of nowhere.

Quilting----Don has a late meeting so here’s the block I’ll be working on before and after church tonight.
It’s my favorite block of the Primitive Garden quilt. I just love the blues and purples together.

I’m still catching up on everyone’s quilting in the past two weeks. Maybe it’s the changing seasons, maybe it’s the good weather, or maybe it’s just that there’s so much inspiration out there….. the quilted pieces I’ve seen lately are just beautiful. I always try to imagine what women from the past would say if they saw our quilts….

Gratitudes:
1. My deer accident wasn’t more serious
2. Good days at work this week
3. Beautiful Fall weather

That's ONE way to wake up! I'm so glad you weren't hurt. Does this mean you get to stay home today? Love the block, the colors are fabulous.

Glad you weren't hurt this morning. Deer can do lots of damage to vehicles.
I have this block all prepped, but still haven't put in a stitch!

I am happy to hear you are alright. I have only hit a deer once and that was enough for me. They do come out of no where and it is startling. I like your applique. Enjoy the day and take care of yourself.

What a shock - the kind of incident that does make you count your blessings, but upsetting none the less.

So thankful it's just a bumper. Do take extra care, it seems like there are more deer accidents this time of year than the rest of the year.

Enjoy your needle & thread therapy, I'm looking forward to seeing it progress!

It happened to one of my family- members, she was ok, the deer was hurt very badly and the car even more. You lucky woman must have an angel on your shoulder! You must have been shaking, but it did not have any effect on your quilting!!!

Those fabrics are so pretty, but then I must say all the fabrics for these blocks, all cotton or cotton / wool, all I have seen have been so great!

One of my biggest fears--hitting a deer! They are so thick around these parts anymore, and you're right, they just seem to come out of nowhere. So glad you're okay.

For the longest time, I had those deer whistle things on my front bumper and I never saw any deer. Over the years one fell off and recently the other came off. Just hearing your story reminds me that I need to get more. I'm not sure they work, but we don't see deer when we drive that car. We do see deer close to the road sometimes when we are driving the truck which didn't have them. So glad you weren't hurt!!

I'm glad you are OK! They do have a habit of flying out of nowhere!

I am really looking forward to meeting you the next time you are in Wichita. We will have a mini quilt shop hop! There are several really good ones in Wichita and within an hour drive.

wow--you are so lucky--glad to hear you are not hurt and your car wasn't too badly damaged. That certainly is a wake up call!

A deer ran out in front of my sisters car when she was only 16 and totalled her car and of course killed the poor deer. She was ok but the car and deer were not. It's just awful how they run out of nowhere right in front of you. I'm glad you were ok.
