Before everything went crazy last Friday, I decided to treat myself to new a summer purse.
I couldn’t decide between the two, so I bought both. Yeah, I probably could have made them, but sometimes, It’s fun to treat yourself. I even got Chelsey’s approval – I guess that means they’re “teenage- approved” Is that good or bad?!?!?!

I’ve got the FAA coming in so I’m about to head to work. I think my department is ready.

My new project - I’ve really now got 4 things going. My Primitive Garden BOM, putting the binding on my floral quilt, and the Project I started tonight – The Journey of a Quilter by Leanne Beasley. I just ordered the patterns. I felt like to me my journal should have pieces from my fabric stash. The picture is beautifully done in pinks and greens and whites. I’m going to try and change it up a little. I suppose I could work on one large project, but I need small victories at this point in the game, so I’m pretty content.

It’s suppose to be sunny and 80 degrees here today. I might purchased flowers for the buggy after work. There’s so many things I want to be doing—
a. Tilling the garden
b. Changing my dishes in the kitchen
c. Bike riding
d. Quilting

All good things in time….

Can't wait to see your Journey quilt take shape. We had some sun yesterday which did wonders for my mood. Hope all goes well today.

It will be fun to watch your Journey quilt come together in the Covered Porch-style *s*
Two new purses! I'm still using the same purse I bought in high school - I can't let go.

Cute bags! It's getting warm enuf here that it's time to drag out the saddle bags for the bicycle and that means the end of the cute bags during warm weather for me. Hmmm... I wonder if I can paint quilt blocks on my saddle bags?

nice bags...we can't make everything I say, so buying what you like is good.

I love both the purses -- and I would have bought them, too! Sorry about having to lay someone off -- always a tough thing - DH got called while we were in Florida on vacation once and told that he had to layoff people in his department -- they couldn't wait til we got home - go figure.
I'm still working on the first block of the Primitive Garden BOM!

Sorry you had such a tough time Friday. I'm lucky--and I know it--to not be in the position to have to hire or fire anyone. I'm not sure I could do it, particularly if the person to be fired hadn't brought it on themselves. I hope your weekend was restful and mentally healing. Glad you got to engage in a little retail therapy too! LOL! I love your new bags--I've been telling myself I should make something one of these days. And that quilt pattern is something special!

Many times I've stopped myself from buying things because "I could make it myself". Trouble is, I don't. So I say, treat yourself.

Very pretty purses, you've started me thinking......I could use one,and I always say I'll make it, but never get to it. BUY one, what a concept! Good for you!

Chelsey approved? HMMMM either she may want to borrow one or she will allow herself to be seen with you carrying it??

I love your bags, especially the pink one. Of course you needed both. Pink wont go with everything. Blue is very versatile so of course you had to have it too.
Great buy, well done!!!

Way to go for treating yourself. Sometimes we don't have time to make everything.I love the pink one.

Nice bags - yeah so you could've made them but hey sometimes your time is worth more than the cost and it is nice to treat yourself once in a while - if Chelsea likes them you might find them being claimed - I'd put them under lock and key if I were you :o)

Looking forward to following your "Journey". Keep on reminding me it's nearly summer please. We are back in jumpers over here!

Great that you can make such great purses! Never tried those. Can't wait to see how the "journey" quilt comes along.

I couldn't have decided between the 2 either. And yes you COULD have made them yourself - but WOULD you have. Sometimes it's best to buy something and enjoy it right away rather than consign it to the "make one day" pile.

Oh I love a quilted bag!! And if I don't get around to making one soon, I be right there with ya, treating myself to one!! They are beautiful!

Those are cute purses. If the teenager approved them, they must be good, since she would be more likely to know what's in fashion. I haven't seen what Journey looks like, but I'm about to search for it. I look forward to seeing your progress.

Such pretty purses! I'm glad you bought both of them - you deserve them! I'm like you - I wouldn't have been able to choose.

Love the bags -- yes, you could have made them. The number of times I've told myself that and haven't. Speaking of which, there are some fabrics for pillows in a box somewhere I need to get to...

I've just been catching up with some of my blog reading (I can see the end of the semester tunnel) -- sorry to hear things have been difficult at work. It's hard to have to tell someone they have been laid off. Your daughter is beautiful, and I can't wait to see the journal quilt.

Hmmnn...hope that covers everything, I can't wait until I can read the blogs I want to on a regular basis again!

Cute bags, I really like the pink one and I am usually not a pink person. Funny how things call to us. Hope things were a little better at work this week! Oh and I didn't want to forget to let you know how beautiful Chelsea was at the prom. Her dress and the young lady in it was just gorgeous.

Your bags are very nice, especially the pink one. I have ordered the "Journey of a Quilter" and have just received the first installment. I will also start it very soon, like you.
