November.....

"Mom, you think you are overdosing in pumpkins?????".  That was Chelsey's comment last time she came home... Probably so, but I do love this time of year.  Once November hit the doorstep, I realized there may have been some truth to her statement.  So I have been rearranging dishes and quilts.

Two weeks ago, I was picking up the sewing room and looking at left over Hop to It border blocks.  They were 3 1/2" hourglass blocks.  I pulled out left over fabric and 2 fat quarters and made a Tabletop piece-- no pumpkins included.

The weather has been rainy and gloomy.... much too warm for this time of the year. I would much rather have the snow than the gloom.

Here is last month's Heart and Home Block.

The tabletop piece proved to me that I can still make Christmas gifts --- in time for Christmas.  I went to Marquette yesterday with Chelsey and picked up a couple of pieces that I need to get to cutting out.  I plan on throwing stash pieces with them.

I've got to buy my Turkey this week.  Look's like it's just going to be Don and I for Thanksgiving. Don said he didn't care-- We were still have turkey and dressing. *S*.... Two Points for Don....

Pretty block! Yes, today in particular is so unseasonably warm and gloomy. Icky! Got my turkey the other day.... 22 pounds! The whole gang will be here this year.

Love love love your topper, Melanie! :) And your heart and home block is so alluring...every time I see one of your blocks I wish I were working on this too. I'm with Don---two is just fine---we still have turkey and stuffing here at Ships Landing too. :) Happy Holidays

I so enjoy a turkey dinner with all the fixin's. We will be picking company up from the airport on Thanksgiving Day. And then heading out to eat. I would rather have a home cooked turkey dinner but its best this way this year.

One can never have too many pumpkins. Or red berries. Or festive color for the holidays. We're quilters after all, color is our thing!

Your table topper is very pretty. great way to use those leftovers pieces.
We are getting a fresh turkey this year from one of the sellers at our farmers market. A first for us. My son and DIL are hosting Thanksgiving this year.
Thanks for stopping by my blog to see my Hop To It quilt. I am very proud to have it finished.

I love your table topper! Good for you using up things you have already. I am a big fan of that. And your heart and home block is pretty! It's gloomy here, too. And cold. For us. :)
