I’ve got a six-foot propeller waiting to be shipped at the office, but I wanted to take a second and type a few lines. We had a quiet night last night. I packaged up some quilt fabric and a pattern for a friend, caught up on some emails. Chelsey had her class and Don played a video game with Eric on-line 300+ miles away. I could hear them laughing and it did my heart good. I quilted on my primitive garden some, maybe a picture by the end of the week.

Here’s a picture of my apple stacker.
It holds pumpkins gourds from my garden in the fall. It’s sitting on my breakfast table on top of a Thimbleberries club quilt. The leaves are from the front yard Ransom and I picked up last night. I ironed them between sheets of waxed paper and the colors stay like that forever. The stackers holds red apples at Christmas, Birds nests in the spring, Granny smith apples in the summer.

I could use another cup of coffee, but I better be on my way.
Until tomorrow---

When the girls first went off to college, we used to do a group instant message session, the two of them in their dorm rooms and each of us on our own computers here at home. It was really fun to be so in touch and yet so far apart. Love the pumpkin holder.

I love your apple holder,a nd what a great idea with the leaves. I'm guessing the waxed paper doesn't harm the iron. Have a great week.

Oh, great tip on the leaves--that's something I didn't know! I love leaves and use them to decorate sometimes--briefly until they crumble. Now I know what to do! Thanks!

I love your pumpkins...nothing better than kids laughter, no matter how old they are.

"I’ve got a six-foot propeller waiting to be shipped at the office" - you know Mel that's not the sort of sentence you hear in just any old posting :o) I love the idea of your DH and DS playing together across the miles - technology is such a wonderful thing, Juliann's idea of a group msn session is brilliant. The apple stand is wonderful.

Brewing up for squash and pumkin soup here. Love the apple holder. DD has discovered MSN Messenger. I can't get near the computer when she's home.

I love your stack of pumpkins! My grandmother use to collect fall leaves and do the wax paper treatment. She would then pin them onto her wall with straight pins. She loved the colored leaves. Thanks for bringing the memory back to me!

Hi Mel, love the apple stacker! What a great idea to use it for other things in other seasons..*VBS*
I'd forgotten about ironing the leaves...we used to do that back in the grades in the late 1940's...at least once each autumn. Think I'll resume that pleasure filled memory. Love hearing about the DH and DS's laughter....best medicine ever. Hugs, Finn

That is sooo cute with pumpkins! I miss the colored leaves. My mom used to wax them like that and mail them to her grandson (my son) in AZ. He still has them!

It's been a while since I've stopped by, Melanie. It looks like you've been busy with a lot of good things.

Your pumpkins look so cute. My youngest DD and I stopped and bought pumpkins after I picked her up from school today. I have some great pictures that I'll blog tomorrow.

That apple holder is a great idea -- and if you get hungry, apples at hand. Hmmn...wonder if I could find one of those around here?
