Summer's End

A quick post to start the week. My folks came up for a few days last week. It was a nice visit. Families aren’t always easy. I guess the best part is that you love each other regardless--- because you’re family...enough said.

I completed another wool block and have another prepped for applique hand sewing at night.

I had a few friends--- yes, I actually made friends this summer---for lunch as a summer finale. It was fun and unexpectedly we ended up in my sewing area---the one room I hadn’t cleaned. But we were so focused on the quilting, I wasn’t even embarrassed….And it was truly a disaster.

I have a super busy week ahead… a lot of changes for me, but I have the support of my team at home. We’ll discuss more later.

I played in my sewing room a little this evening, finishing up these post cards to pop in the mail.

The scrabble pieces are part of a 35 cent purchase at a second hand store in town.

Hey folks--- good things are just around the corner.

Gratitudes-

Fall leaves sprinkling down.

I love your postcards. Are they hard to make? They are gorgeous. I loved your table setting too. I can't wait to hear and see more.

Oops - messed up.....trying again....

Love your home team!!! You could accomplish anything with them behind you!

(do you still have a kiddo at F., north of GR?) Just wondering! Mine graduated this spring, but is still in GR for graduate school!

And ahh, yes family - such fun!

Well, have a great week, hugs from Michigan!

Thinking of you today, and I hope it'll be a great one for you. Hope it's even better than you expect.

Your fall table is so refreshing after a long hot summer here. Will fall actually arrive down south? We always are wondering.......and those postcards are fantastic. Makes me want to get out my supplies and do some. You inspire me!

Your table was so cute and Fall looking. It's still HOT in the south and it's been so dry the leaves are falling anyway.
Can the postcards actually be sent through the mail?
Have a great week, hope to read more later.

Your table is so pretty - you have a real gift for special table settings. The postcards are great - someday I will manage to have such neat edges on mine(just don't know which day in which century).
I'm happy to hear of good things coming (and for some reason that song from West Side Story slid through my brain)...looking forward to learning more about your coming blessings.

What a good idea to purchase a used Scrabble set for the letters. I have seen the letters in packs at craft stores. Probably not as nice, though.

I like to have the wool blocks prepped for stitching too. I always enjoy seeing what you are working on.

I loved the appliqued apples. What fun. Isn't it always the way...people find the one spot you haven't got tidy...in my case it would have to be the whole house!!! Ah ....welll.... I have been sewing lately. Cheerful smiles. Gloria

Those postcards are so fun! Hopefully I will get a chance to make a fun card for my son - he is 7 and has been away from me since mid-August - had to go back to school in Austria while I stayed here in Canada to work. All lives have their challenges. You are right - families are families through all the years, I was just scanning old photos for my family - most of them about 25 years old and I can't believe how quickly time has gone by, but there we all are in photo after photo. Glue, I say! Good for you for having a summer finale! And new quilty friends, wow! Cheers! Evelyn
