A Summer Day in July

I completed my last two quilt tops and they have been binded and put out for use. The Harvest Home Quilt made fro the confeffti cake pattern with my own border. I pieced this quilt while I was going through a tough time so everytime I look at the finish product it makes me know I'm tougher than I think.....
My Baskets of Life Quilt was finished this afternoon. It was quilted with a meandering stitch all over even in the stitchery blocks.

Summer is in full swing.  The herbs are beautiful.  I guess we have just the right mix of sun and rain.  They seem to be thriving this year.

Here's a snapshot of the first pumpkin in the pumpkin patch....I guess every thing starts out small.

We've had a couple of 'hiccups' at our house.  But I realize they are just hiccups and when I look at the "big" picture I know all things happen for a reason.  Even though we may not know what it is right now, I do know that they'll work out for good.

I use to think we had issues or problems.. but now I kinda think we just have " Life".  Just like every one else.

Keep Quilting.....

Everything looks lovely in your yard. We are just not getting some weather above 70 degrees so I am hopeful for my garden.

Both quilts are a wonderful finish. I need to piece the back for my "Baskets of Life" so I can complete the quilt. I have the stitchery done for the back.
I hope the tough times are over with and you are on to better things.

Beautiful quilts Mel. Glad to see you quilted through the stitcheries. Yes "Life" just happens whether we are ready for it or not, but we also know that God never leaves us or forsakes us.

The quilts turned out beautiful, Mel, and I know what you mean... it's become 'just life' when these things happen. I think I was living a charmed life for a lot of years and just didn't realize it!

Your photography is really nice. I love the confetti quilt.

Yes, tough times make us tougher. I wish life could be easier, but there's no escaping the bumps in the road. I hope and pray things get better over there soon.

Isn't it funny how quilts can bring memories. I have a quilt that I worked on while sitting in the hospital with my dying father. I would sit and quilt and when I would leave the room he would hide my scissors and thread. It was a little game we played. I can hardly look at that quilt now without crying and thinking of him that has been 10 years ago.

sometimes things happen or life gets us down but I look around at others and see what is happening to them and think things aren't so bad then.....so and so is in a worse situation.......take care of yourself.....

Love your confetti quilt. I started that one too but had to put it away to get some other stuff done. I"ve been thinking about getting it out again.

I guess we need hiccups in our life so we appreciate the good times more. Love your quilts, and as always your yard.

Your quilts are beautiful. I especially like the baskets one, and yes, we all just have to deal with life. It happens, doesn't it!

Your quilts are lovely, as usual! We have some stresses here, as well, but we keep plugging away! Love the little pumpkin - I don't think I've seen one at that wee stage!
