Hi Melanie, and Happy New Year :) You don't know me...I've commented a few times over the years but have followed your blog for a long time now. I have a Chelsea too (my oldest of our six) and a Ransom (although mine is my third son, the dog's name is Bane ;). I grew up in Wisconsin, but lived in South Florida for 25 years and now we live in the North Georgia mountains. Cold winters and occasional snow/ice, but nothing like Michigan. Just wanted to tell you how much I've enjoyed the peeks at your life, your family, and your quilting. You and I have complete opposite tastes in fabrics and usually different pattern choices...but we've progressed in our sewing skills at about the same pace.
