The Real Reason...

The Real Reason I'm struggling with any project right now--- aside from it being summer----is this...
It's Lisa Bongean from Primitive Gatherings block of the week for Summer.  I signed up and treated myself.  She throws in freebies every week. Last week was that penny star.  So for twenty minutes each day I sit on the porch with a needle in my hands. It's small and easy to work with. Doesn't matter what is going on....the world stops for twenty minutes. It's my present to myself.  A committment to slow down for a few minutes each day. I'm having so much fun. And I love getting mail....

The Rumors are true... the furnace was running last week in our house.  No frost , but it did get down to 38 one night.  It would be different if we maybe got warmer days on the back end of Summer, but it just doesn't work that way.  Yesterday was beautiful-- in the low 70's.  We slept with the windows open.  I heard crickets---comforting. Remember, we only hear them a few months a year up here.

Guess it's another example of life being a perspective-- annoying to some--- music to others....

Gratitudes:
Chelsey weed-eating around the trees
Those crickets
Watermelon for lunch

Your wool applique block is a fairly quick project and is looking so good. I was tempted by the project but I have enough already to do. I am going to have regrets I think after seeing your first block. Enjoy your stitching.

Lookin' good . . . just like that baby quilt *S* There's a style for everyone and you are just getting a little taste of them all this week!

I wanted to do those blocks, but I just couldn't add one more thing to my life right now! Yours is beautiful!

How pretty your block is! And the wool is nice where you are. It would not be so nice here. We're flirting with 100's every day and only down into the upper seventies/lower eighties at night. Ah, Houston in the summertime. ;(

Your applique is so very pretty - as always. The little bit I've worked with wool was delightful - just can't seem to find anything I can afford and not much opportunity to buy smaller pieces.
The baby quilt is most interesting and I bet the mom will love it! I'm interested in the pattern and how it all goes together.
You are just an inspiration to me.

I know! Jim keeps threatening to turn the furnace back on too! We did turn on the electric radiator for a couple of nights. gosh, I'm not going to complain, because there will probably be those 5 days of unbearable heat and humidity at some point right? ;-) We'll be up your way in August sometime. I was hoping for a weekend before that, but it's not looking good right now!
