I went to Green Bay yesterday with Chelsey. She had a doctor's appointment. We did the mother -daughter thing as a last hoorah before school starts. I don't think I've laughed so much in a long time. Good memories to hold onto for a while. We picked up Chinese takeout to go and ate the eggrolls on the drive home.
Zinnas planted from seeds in my garden. They always remind me of my Mom. She always planted them when I was a kid--- and still does.....During the summer we always had cut flowers for the kitchen table.
Gratitudes:
Friends---I actually have time to make some....
Pups for comfort in a thunderstorm
Vanilla Ice Cream--- With Chocolate swirls-Swirls are the best.

They are so cute! The colors do go really well together. And I am glad you had a nice visit with your daughter :o)
I really like the witches, all 5 of them. The color are great and I'm sure it will be a real treat when it's done! Great job!
Mel your witches are wonderful! That is going to be a really fun quilt! What a fun day for you and Chelsie.
I love, love your witches! They would look good on your porch swing during October.
The coffee pot is just perfect for the flowers. That is a creative use of the old pot.
Oh, my aunt and uncle are up in Door County! I was there a loooong time ago, it's a bit far for me as I'm on B.C.'s west coast!
About the project on my blog that you like... the ice creamy one...I'll give you a little hint... think 2 1/2" squares, and 6 1/2" squares. Hope you can go from there!
Take care, Kimberly
ps... Hope this helps ;)
Oh they are turning out adorable!
What cute lil' witches. They'd look nice on my table too, just in case you want to make a few more - LOL!
Glad you had a great girls' day out! Wonderful zinnias.
Five Witches on a Swing are great -cute!
I had a day with my DD, Kristie today so I know exactly how you feel about your day with your DD. ;-)
The zinnias in the pot look fabulous.
Zinnias are some of my very favorite flowers and yours are so pretty! Mine have just about given up in this heat.
Oh those witches are just so cute!
Sounds like you had a perfect day with Chelsie :-)
Love your picture of the flowers! It just says summer. Very nice.
your witchies are cute, but your Zinnias are fabulous!! I love them! they bring back such memories of growing up and my grandmas farm. I was in Iron Mt off and on last week and I thought of you, but had no way to contact you! sigh!
Your witchys are too cute! It sounds like the perfect day for you and Chelsey. :) And I love your zinnias. Some years I have good luck with them, other years not so good, but I keep flinging the seeds out each Spring. :) Love the enamel pot they are in. :)
I really love the witches! I'm glad you are making lemonade with the lemons. Life is too short! Your trip with Chelsey sounds like it was lots of fun!
I love those witches. Are their legs dangling? Love the colours too. So nice to have your posting more often these days. I do enjoy your blog. xx Sue
Those witches are really cool! I'm getting in the mood for fall... :)
Popping in to say "hello, welcome autumn" *VBS* Love the witch progress(they are truly awesome!) and hurray for zinnias..one of my most favorite of summer flowers. Like daisies, so unpretenous. Just bright, happy and simple...works for me! Hugs for the newly found freedom, Finn
I LOVE them ..they are so ...oh...happy??? can a witch be happy?????
LOVE the zinnias too....I forgot to plant some this year, I always have them...and for whatever reason I forgot...so your made me happy!
Mel, I love the witches. So cute! Glad you posted them it reminded me I have one I started last year. I will dig it out and finish it this year. LOL!
Glad you had a fun visit with Chelsey.
Have a great week! = ). Karen
I love your zinnias - my mother always had zinnias in her flower gardens, but I never seem to have any luck with them. I especially like the little ones that only get 6" tall.
My favorite part of the witches is the dangling legs with booted feet! That's just tooo good. Makes me want to do Pippi Longstocking.
The best part of your post is your trip with Chelsey. Beth and I always try to do our own girl thing before school starts. (We still do it now she's teaching!) Those are precious, precious times.
You are definitely doing things right.
You're making great progress on your quilt. Our weather is cooling down too, and I guess it is time to work on the fall projects.
Love those little witches!
you inspired me....and got me even more excited about autumn
