Usually after a project I’m sick of the fabric, never want to see it again. But after piecing my last quilt, I’m still in love with the leftovers. I made these Sunday afternoon in literally fifteen minutes. (Minus the button covering).
I’d like to tell you I’m looking out for the environment by making the lunch bags, but truthfully, they’re just so dang cute--- and easy. The Pattern came from Allpeoplequilt.com. I never have wrapping paper or a gift bag when I need one. I’m going to making 3 or 4 more different sizes and put them away for a moments notice. I hate pouring money into wrapping paper that will be torn and thrown away too. Two fat quarters is all you need and some interfacing. It’s a great way to lower the Fabric Inventory too.

Eric is traveling home this morning—The roads were to rough last night. Truthfully, as much as I want to see him, I hate him traveling and wish he would stay put. But the college kids are invincible.

No plans for the weekend--- and no complaining about having no plans. I’m going to knock out the house and relax…and enjoy my kids…

Those bags are so neat! i am going to have to check out the web site. And look at all that cool stuff from your "neighbor" in Wisc. You do have a lot in common!

I love how they turned out and the fabrics are beautiful! I made one a few weeks ago and gave to my sister, she loved it.

Enjoy you children this weekend.

I looked at that bag pattern too. They have some neat patterns on that site. Will be thinking of Eric today. The big road out here has been closed for days because of avalanches so a lot of people are cooling their heels. Fortunately Taylor is heading back to school on a plane so we won't have to worry about the snow until she gets to Spokane.

Cute! I'm always at a loss for gift wrap, too. But is the button cover difficult? Sometimes my feeble head can't too much of a challenge *s*

Those bags are wonderful. I printed off those instructions when I first saw them too -- I'm hoping to make gift bags this year also. Probably should start now and make some for birthdays during the year too.

Those are so pretty! As much as I hate wrapping presents (A toddler wraps presents better than me) this is perfect.

Cute, cute, cute! And how cool is it that the pattern is free too! I've downloaded the PDF file - and because I don't have a thing to do today... LOL... I'll have to spend some more time checking out that site.
I'm thinking you could make those much bigger (I'm thinking sale fabric here) and make them for just about any wrapping purpose. Of course - you would have to live in a house without 'peekers'.

Really cute Mel! You are so productive. I wish I could put the pedal to the metal and get some sewing done too.

Have a wonderful, relaxing weekend with your family.

Oh, I love the fabric!! Very 'country-French'. I can see why you weren't tired of it after using it in your quilt. Can you show us a picture of your quilt??

Your blog is on my list of fav blogs. :)

Something in common! It pains me to spend money on wrapping paper - it's such a huge waste! These bags are perfect and yours are beautiful. Thank you for sharing the link. Will definitely check them out. I'm bagophobic but hopefully the task won't be too daunting. LOL

Safe travel for your son!

What a nifty idea for gift bags, lunch bags or even to carry stitchery to a meeting. I love the fabrics you used. And to get some stash busting done as well...thanks so much, I just love your blog.

bopdytvThose bags are really cute and I think it would be hard to stop at just one. It would be fun pairing the colours together too.
It's so hard to imagine living in such a cold climate, the most we ever get is hard frost. And we're sweltering in the Australian summer now, I suppose that's hard for YOU to imagine! Aint the internet wonderful?
